Local resident Paul York describes the immediate aftermath of the crash
Two men were seriously injured when their plane crashed into two houses in Salford, Greater Manchester.
Police were called to Newlands Avenue, Peel Green, at 12:20 BST after reports a plane had collided with properties.
Emergency services found a light aircraft had come down and hit two houses soon after taking off from Barton Aerodrome in Irlam.
The men suffered serious burns and were airlifted to Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester for treatment.

The BBC understands that the plane, being operated by Raven Air, was already on fire as it was taking off.
It is believed that no-one was in the houses at the time of the crash.
A spokesman for North West Air Ambulance said: "A man in his late 50s had 70% burns and a man aged 21 had 60% burns.
"Both were taken by the North West Air Ambulance to Wythenshawe Hospital. We have had no reports of any other casualties."
'Plume of smoke' Six fire engines attended the crash scene and Greater Manchester Fire Service said that several adjacent properties had been evacuated.
Paul Duggan, from the fire service, said: "The plane had also caught fire so a number of people, including an occupant of the property, two passers-by and a passing police officer, then tried to fight the fire by putting water on it.
"That was fairly successful but not until some burns had been sustained by the occupants of the aircraft."
He added: "One occupant of the plane was removed quite quickly but the second had to be cut from the wreckage."
Dale Stafford, who was in another plane at the aerodrome which was waiting to take off when the crash happened, said: "I saw it take off, I didn't see it come down but we heard the siren go off in the airtower.
"We saw the plume of smoke."

Mark Frimston, a forklift truck driver who lives in a nearby block of flats, said: "I heard a bang, like a gas explosion.
"It was as if a bomb went off. My baby started crying because it scared him.
"We could hear screaming, women screaming initially and then a man screaming in terror. I just panicked and ran downstairs."
He added: "When I ran around the corner I could see the plane embedded into the side of a house."
Jeff Tarling, another resident, said: "We saw the plane dropping. It looked like the pilot was struggling with it.
"It looked like he was trying to land it in a cemetery."
A cordon has been put in place around the scene, and the A57 has been closed in both directions with diversions in place.
